PRIZE #1 -- PAINT THE TOWN PINK, DAAAHLING!

This beautiful prize set is from the Isabella Gu cci-Jone s Collection, where ferrets (and their humans) love to shop! The 9-piece set features:

- a 24" silver ferret with wings necklace;
- a 6 1/2" pink beaded chain to deck our your girl's cage or carrier (bling, bling!!);
- two pairs of dangling silver earrings with pink stones;
- a luxurious, super soft ferret sack/bed -- oh so pink and warm!
- a pink and white ferret tote bag (16" wide x 12" long);
- two handmade soaps (one shea butter and one olive oil with "rain" scent);

CASEY'S NEW LIFE

Casey came to the Last Chance Ferret Rescue in Southampton, PA from a local SPCA, says shelter op Diane Bodofsky. Casey was an abuse case. When we got her she was skinny, afraid of everything and had a horrible coat. It took a few weeks of Totally Ferret donated by SOS, but she turned into a fat, sweet, loving ferret. You can see her with her new “mommy” Melissa. I have known Melissa’s mother for many years and know Casey will be spoiled rotten. As you can see from the picture, Casey and Melissa love each other. It is because of the generous donations from SOS that we are able to continue to find loving homes for as many ferrets as possible. Thank you SOS from all the ferrets you help. Little Casey finally knows what it’s like to be happy. SOS helps shelters to continue their fight on the front lines to save ferrets in need all over the U.S. And you help, too, by purchasing raffle tickets. Buy a ticket, save a life. Who'd care if Geoffrey had died of a blockage? Not the owner who dumped him! But the wonderful folks at the Greater Chicago Ferret Association knew that Geoffrey’s life was worth plenty and the world would be a lesser place without this sweet, goofy 2.5-year-old boy. Geoffrey was lethargic, had bloody stools and was in obvious pain. GCFA rushed him to the vet where X-rays revealed a problem. After a 4-hour surgery the vet informed them that he had cork in his stomach and intestines and at one point, there was a perforation where the cork leaked into his abdomen. That was at 10 o'clock at night. At 8 a.m. the next morning, the vet called to say that Geoffrey now had a urinary blockage, due to early onset adrenal disease. After a loading dose of Lupron and one day of having a urinary catheter, he was acting like nothing had ever happened. A month later, he is acting like a normal ferret, dooking up a storm, and eating like a pig. He will have to be on Lupron for life, but, as Ron Crivello of GCFA says, “Without funding from SOS, we would not have been able to afford his extensive veterinary care.” Geoffrey is proof that YOU can help save the life of a ferret by participating in the SOS raffle! Support Our Shelters' Spring 2012 raffle will run from Jan. 25 to March 13. Winning tickets will be drawn by Bill Gruber. Winners will be notified by email or phone.

Tickets cost just $1 each, or six for $5. You can allocate your tickets any way you want!

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT SHIPPING!! - The cost of shipping beyond U.S. borders is increasingly expensive and may be prohibitive for some of our prize donors. Therefore, we regret that we can only pay for shipping to the point in the U.S. that is closest to your destination. For example, if you are located in Toronto and win a prize, we can pay the postal fees to Buffalo, N.Y. and you will be asked to cover the difference. The operators of ferret shelters give their time and money every day, often sacrificing their own needs to provide food, shelter, vet care and love to thousands (really...thousands) of ferrets who have been lost, abused or often simply dumped by people who can't be bothered to follow through on their commitment to their ferret. Support Our Shelters (S.O.S.) aids many needy ferret shelters each year. We have been in operation since September 1997 and became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in January 2001. Most of the funds S.O.S. raises go into a general pool for periodic distribution to the shelters on the list.
